Short title, extent, application and commencement.--
(1) This Act may be called the Indian Post Office Act, 1898.
(2) 1[It extends to the whole of India 2[x x x x] and it applies also to all citizens of India outside India.]
(3) It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1898.
