1 -1. Short title and application.

(1) This Act may be cited as the Racing Club (Public Sweepstakes) Act 1965 .

(2) This Act shall apply throughout Malaysia.

2 -2. Racing Clubs may promote public sweepstakes.

(1) A racing club established in Malaysia may, after the commencement of this Act, promote a sweeptake in which any person (including a person not being a member of the club) may take part; and the *Betting Ordinance 1953 [Ord. 47 of 1953] , shall not apply to any sweepstake so promoted.

(2) In this section-

  "racing club"  means a racing club which is a member of the Malayan Racing Association or a successor thereof; and   "sweepstakes"  means any sweepstake promoted on the result of a horse race.
