Supreme Today News Desk

Former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak has been appointed as Israel's judge at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands. Barak will serve on a panel of judges hearing a case brought by Gambia against Myanmar, accusing the country of genocide against the Rohingya Muslim minority. This is the first time that Israel has been involved in a case before the ICJ, which is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. Barak's appointment is seen as a sign of Israel's commitment to legal justice and adherence to international law.
