Jet Airways Founder Naresh Goyal Pleads to Court:

Supreme Today News Desk

Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal, currently in jail, was overcome with emotion during a special court hearing on his bail plea. With folded hands, he expressed his desire to die in prison. Arrested on September 1, 2023, in a money-laundering case, Goyal is in judicial custody at Mumbai's Arthur Road Central Jail. Appearing before the court, a trembling Goyal, 74, detailed his deteriorating health, his wife Anita's battle with cancer, and their unwell daughter. He tearfully voiced his despair and loss of hope, pleading to be allowed to die in jail rather than endure his circumstances. Special Judge M.G. Deshpande acknowledged Goyal's trembling condition and requested the Enforcement Directorate to respond. The hearing was adjourned until January 16. Judge Deshpande assured Goyal of proper care, extending his judicial custody by 10 days while directing his lawyers to address his health concerns.
