Arvind Kejriwal withdraws plea against ED arrest from Supreme Court

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday withdrew his plea from the Supreme Court against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud allowed Kejriwal to withdraw his plea.

Kejriwal had filed the plea in the apex court challenging the summons issued by the ED in connection with the alleged scam.

The ED had earlier issued summons to Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged scam.

The ED is investigating the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which was introduced by the Kejriwal government in November 2021.

The policy was later withdrawn by the government after the CBI registered an FIR in the case.
