Supreme Today News Desk

Kolkata-based lawyer Santanu Sinha , who recently faced a legal notice for allegedly making false and defamatory allegations against BJP's IT head Amit Malviya and the party's West Bengal unit, claimed on Tuesday that his statements were misinterpreted.

Sinha has clarified that he will not withdraw the contentious social media post but expressed heartfelt sorrow if his remarks hurt Malviya .

He stated, 'If my post hurts Mr. Malviya and/or undermines my party due to misinterpretation and edited version, I do express my heartfelt sorrow for the same. Since I have not written anything untoward with the mission to malign, I am not withdrawing the post,' Sinha conveyed in a Facebook post.

In further communication, Sinha emphasized that his statement should not be seen as an apology but as an effort to clear the air around the controversy.

Amit Malviya , head of BJP's IT department, has sent a legal notice to Sinha , demanding an apology for what he claims are false and defamatory allegations made against him intending to harm his reputation.
