Madonna's Lawyer Denies Settlement in Delayed Concert Lawsuit

Supreme Today News Desk

Madonna 's legal team is pushing back against claims of a settlement in her delayed concert lawsuit, calling the news completely false. In a Monday hearing, the judge sided with Madonna 's legal team, confirming that no settlement had been reached and that there had been a miscommunication. The judge struck the settlement notice, allowing the case to proceed. The plaintiffs have until July to respond to Madonna 's motion to dismiss. In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Madonna 's lawyer has asked the judge to remove a settlement notice filed by the plaintiffs' lawyers, Michael Fellows and Jason Alvarez , from the record. The lawyer insists that no settlement has been agreed upon, although settlement talks have been ongoing. Madonna 's attorney stated that he informed Fellows and Alvarez that Madonna and Live Nation—whom he also represents—had rejected settling at this time. Despite this, the plaintiffs' lawyer filed a notice suggesting that a settlement had been reached. The plaintiffs' attorney claims that his clients accepted Live Nation's settlement offer and even attached a draft settlement agreement. However, Madonna 's camp says they were asked to confirm the terms of the agreement but were unable to respond with a denial before a "False Notice of Settlement" was filed on Friday. Madonna 's lawyer demanded that Marcus Wolf Corwin, the plaintiffs' attorney, withdraw the notice by Monday morning, but this had not been done by then. On paper, it appeared as though a settlement had been struck. While Madonna and Live Nation are open to settling the case, her lawyer criticized the plaintiffs' legal team, suggesting that the filing was part of a "harassment campaign" to force a payout. Madonna is currently dealing with a lawsuit over her habit of starting concerts late. She has previously argued that her true fans know she always takes the stage fashionably late. Both parties are expected to discuss the lawsuit further in court today, so more updates may follow. Stay tuned for more developments.
