Leave granted.
Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and
considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we are
inclined to accept the present appeal and direct that in the event
of the appellant – Mohit Bedi being arrested in connection with the
First Information Report No. 15 dated 31.05.2023, registered at
Police Station – Vigilance Bureau, Range Amritsar, District –
Amritsar, Punjab for the offence(s) punishable under Sections 7 and
7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, he shall be released
on bail by the arresting/investigating officer or the trial court
on terms and conditions to be fixed by the trial court. In
addition, the appellant – Mohit Bedi shall comply with the
We clarify that the grant of anticipatory bail will not be treated as an expression of opinion on the merits of the case.
