New High Court Building Coming to Telangana

Supreme Today News Desk

The Telangana government has allocated 100 acres of land in Rajendranagar mandal, Rangareddy district, for the construction of a new High Court building. The decision came after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asked officials to make arrangements to lay the foundation stone for the new building in January. Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and several lawyers pointed out the dilapidated condition of the current high court and emphasized the need for a new building. While the current building will be renovated and used as a city or other court building, the new site is expected to preserve the heritage of the old structure. The decision to shift the high court to Rajendranagar has allegedly caused concerns among a community of scientists and researchers at Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU). The allotted land includes approximately 35-40 acres of PJTSAU land, which was developed as an agri-biodiversity zone for research and educational purposes. During a recent visit to the university, officials from PJTSAU appealed for the protection of the agri-biodiversity park developed on the land.
