Politicians' Lifetime Disqualification: Pak Supreme Court to Decide

Pakistan's Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for January 2nd to address the issue of lifetime disqualification of politicians. The seven-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will determine the period of disqualification under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution and the amendments made to the Elections Act 2017. The case holds significance as it will influence the fate of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who seeks a fourth term in the upcoming February 8th elections.
