Ratia Resident Accuses Gang of Vandalism and Assault After Refusing Extortion Demands

Ratia, Haryana – A resident of Ratia, Harminder Singh , has filed a statement with the City Ratia Police Station alleging a brutal attack on his home and family following his refusal to pay extortion money. The statement, recorded on February 22, 2024, details a late-night incident on February 21, 2024, where a large group of individuals, allegedly led by Malkeet alias Roda , forcibly entered Singh 's residence, causing extensive damage and assaulting family members.

Allegations of Housebreaking and Assault

According to Harminder Singh 's statement, the incident occurred around 10:20 pm on February 21st. Singh , who runs a Bhangra party, was parking his vehicle when a group of approximately fifteen individuals, allegedly including Malkeet alias Roda , Yograj , Labbu alias Billa, and others, descended upon his home. Singh claims the group broke down the main gate and stormed inside.

Fearful for his safety, Singh hid in his car and witnessed the alleged perpetrators ransacking his house. The statement details the destruction of household items including furniture, glass fixtures, an LCD television, refrigerator, RO system, mobile phones, CCTV cameras, and a double bed. Furthermore, Kaimi Singh , a resident present in the house, was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. Singh 's wife, Nirmala Kaur , and other women present were reportedly beaten with fists and slaps, and Rs. 20,000 was allegedly snatched from Nirmala Kaur 's purse. Kaimi Singh was admitted to a government hospital for treatment following the incident.

Extortion as Motive

The statement reveals a prior demand for extortion as the alleged motive behind the attack. Singh claims that Malkeet alias Roda , along with Surender alias Kanchala and Akhtar alias Bashid , had previously demanded Rs. 10,000 per month as extortion money, which Singh refused to pay. He believes this refusal led to the violent retaliation and property damage.

Demand for Legal Action

Harminder Singh has requested legal action against all the identified individuals, seeking recovery of the stolen Rs. 20,000 and demanding justice for the damage and assault. The police are expected to investigate the matter based on Singh 's statement and potentially register a First Information Report (FIR) to formally commence the legal process.

This is a developing story. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
