Teacher's Salary Protection
Subject : Civil Law - Employment Law
The Supreme Court of India has ruled that the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) cannot stop paying teachers' salaries while their cases are pending in court. This decision came in response to a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by KVS challenging the Madhya Pradesh High Court's cancellation of teachers' transfers. The teachers had challenged their transfers, arguing that they were sent to distant locations where they were unfamiliar with the regional language and faced personal difficulties. The High Court agreed with the teachers and canceled the transfers, prompting KVS to appeal to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court's decision ensures that teachers will continue to receive their salaries during the legal proceedings, protecting their financial stability and livelihood.
