Surrogacy Clause Barring Donor Gametes Reconsidered by Indian Government

The Indian government has informed the Supreme Court that it is actively reconsidering amendments to rules under the Surrogacy Act that prohibit married couples from using donor gametes through surrogacy. The move comes in response to orders passed by the court questioning the correctness of this condition in exceptional cases involving married women unable to conceive due to medical conditions.
