Judgment :-

1. The appeal is for reduction of compensation of Rs. 51,38,102/- awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (the Claims Tribunal) in favour of Respondents no.1 and 2 for the death of their bachelor son Vikrant Sharma, who suffered fatal injuries in a motor vehicular accident which occurred on 06.11.2010.

2. On appreciation of evidence, the Claims Tribunal found that the accident was caused on account of rash and negligent driving of Baleno car bearing registration no.DL-9CG-9721 by its driver Ankur Raj Singh (Respondent no.3). The Claims Tribunal further found that Vikrant Sharma had obtained a Masters degree in Computer Applications from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He was working as a Software Engineer with a reputed company Accenture Services Pvt. Ltd. and was getting an annual salary of Rs. 4,26,059/-. The Claims Tribunal added 50% towards future prospects, deducted towards personal and living expenses, Rs. 26,600/- towards income tax and applied the multiplier of 17, as per the age of the deceased to compute the loss of dependency as Rs. 50,93,102/-.
