C.C. Pant, Member - This appeal is directed against the judgment and order dated 29.10.2010 passed by the District Forum, Haridwar allowing the consumer complaint No. 301 of 2010 and directing the opposite party Nos. 1, 2 to replace the inverter of the complainant with a new inverter within a month from the date of the order and also to pay to the complainant a sum of Rs. 10,000 towards compensation.

2. The facts of the case, in brief, are that the complainant - Sh. Kanwar Sain had purchased an inverter of 10 KVA from M/s. Rajendra Associates. Dehradun - opposite party No. 2 on 18.1.2008. The inverter was manufactured by M/s. Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. -opposite party No. 1, having its registered office at C-8 and C-9, Community Centre. Janakpuri, New Delhi. The company has its service centre at Chandracharya Chowk, Haridwar with the name and style of M/s. Luminous Power Technologies Service Centre - opposite party No. 3. The complainant has alleged that the said inverter was not properly functioning since the day of its installation and he had intimated the opposite parties in this regard.
