1. By filing the instant writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for quashing/setting aside and/or cancelling the order dated 2.5.2006 issued by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Government of Tripura (Annexure H to the writ petition) whereby and whereunder the promotion of the petitioner to the post of Forest Ranger vide order dated 5.10.2002 has been cancelled and also for cancelling the Disciplinary Proceeding initiated against him by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Government of Tripura vide Memorandum dated 30.8.2007 (Annexure I to the writ petition).
