(Prayer: The Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to take action to remove the flagpoles erected in the public places permanently and further direct the respondents to put complete ban or erecting the flagpoles permanently or temporarily in the public places all over the state of Tamilnadu by considering the petitioner’s representation dated 07.05.2016.)

The petitioner has sought for a Mandamus directing the respondents to take action to remove the flagpoles erected in the public places permanently and further direct the respondents to put complete ban on erecting the flagpoles permanently or temporarily in the public places all over the state of Tamilnadu by considering the petitioner’s representation dated 07.05.2016.

At the outset, when the matter came up “for admission”, after considering the statutory provisions in various enactments namely, Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 (Sections 26 and 30), Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919
