(Prayer: Appeal filed under Section 374(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to call for the entire records connected to the judgment in S.C.No.122 of 2013 on the file of the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Pudukkottai, dated 20.12.2017 and set aside the conviction and sentence imposed against the appellant.)
1. This Criminal Appeal is preferred by the appellant/accused as against the conviction and sentence imposed by the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Pudukkottai, in S.C.No.122 of 2013, dated 20.12.2017. The appellant was charged for the offence under Sections 341, 302 & 307 IPC. The trial Court, in conclusion of the trial, though acquitted him for the offence under Sections 341 & 307 IPC, has found him guilty for the offence under Section 302 IPC, convicted and sentenced him to undergo life imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/-, in default to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three months. Aggrieved over the conviction and sentence imposed, the appellant has preferred the instant appeal.
