1. Instant civil writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to decide the representations, dated 21.03.2023 and 19.05.2023, Annexures P-3 and P-5, respectively.

2. It has been contended by counsel for the petitioners that sitting Sarpanch has been suspended and out of 11 Panches, 8 Panches, i.e. petitioners No.2 to 8 are with petitioner No.1. He submits that in the facts and circumstances, petitioner No.1 be appointed as the authorised Panch in view of Section 22 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. He further submits that for redressal of their grievances, the petitioners have filed representations, dated 21.03.2023 and 19.05.2023, Annexures P-3 and P-5, but no decision has been taken on the same.

3. Notice of motion.

4. On asking of the Court, Ms.Akshita Chauhan, DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State.

5. After hearing counsel for the parties and going through the file, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2, i.e. District Development & Panchayat Officer, Civil Secretariat, Sri Muktsar
