This Writ Petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:
“(a) issue a writ of certiorari or any appropriate writ or direction to call for records leading to Ext.P1 intimation and cancel the same ;
(b) issue a writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ or direction directing the respondents to release the entire amount matured on 17.12.2015 to the petitioner under his policy No.02190714 ; and
(c) pass any other appropriate writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit to issue and the petitioner may pray from time to time.”
Brief facts:
2. The petitioner took out a ten year insurance policy from the 2nd respondent which is a Private Company engaged in the business of providing insurance cover. The 1st respondent is the local Branch Office of the 2nd respondent. The date of inception of the policy was 17.12.2005. As ordained per the policy terms, the petitioner regularly paid the premiums due and the policy matured on 17.12.2015. The petitioner then approached the 2nd respondent and sought to realise the entire amount due. However, he was told that as per the policy plan, he would receive the payout in the form of a pension
