The police were directed to investigate the circumstances of the girl going missing and file a status report within six weeks.

Issues: The main issue was the custody of the minor girl and the relief sought through the writ petition for a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus.

Ratio Decidendi: The court found that the relief sought through the writ petition was already satisfied by the presence of the minor girl before the court and her restoration to the care and custody of her biological mother. The court also emphasized the need for the police to investigate the circumstances of the girl going missing.

Final Decision: The writ petition was disposed of, and the police were directed to investigate the circumstances of the girl going missing and file a status report within six weeks.
