Petitioner-Dheeraj Kumar has filed the present revision petition against the judgment dated 10.06.2024, passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Nalagarh, District Solan (hereinafter referred to as the ‘First Appellate Court’), in Criminal Appeal No.13-NL/10 of 2023, titled as Dheeraj versus Meenu Chandel.

By way of judgment dated 10.06.2024, the learned First Appellate Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the petitioner against the judgment of conviction dated 21.06.2023 and order of sentence dated 23.06.2023, passed by the Court of learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Court No.2, Nalagarh, District Solan, H.P., (hereinafter referred to as the ‘trial Court’), in Case No.288 of 2020, titled as Meenu Chandel versus Dheeraj.

Vide judgment of conviction dated 21.06.2023 and order of sentence dated 23.06.2023, learned trial Court has convicted the petitioner, for the offence, punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (hereinafter referred to as the ‘NI Act’) and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment, for a period of two months and to pay a compensation of Rs.4,20,000/- to the complainant.
