1. The petitioner is the wife of the detenu, namely Murugapandi and in view of the detention order passed by the second respondent, in No.4/Goonda/2014, dated 02.02.2014, her husband has been designed as a "Goonda". She has come forward with the petition before this Court to quash the said order of detention passed by the second respondent.

2. Brief averments made in the petition as well as the contention put forth on behalf of the petitioner by the counsel for the petitioner are as follows;-

2.1. The detenue has come to the adverse notice of the police in two cases. They have been registered in Cr.Nos.152 and 155 of 2013 under Sections, 2(D) of NS (HSD) RSD Order 1998 r/w 7(1)(a)(ii) of EC Act 1955; and 2(e) r/w 3(vi) of Motor Sprit and High Diesel (Regulation of Supply Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices) Order 1998 and 3(2)(d) r/w 7(2) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 respectively on the file of Sayalkudi Police Station. The two adverse cases are under investigation, when the order of Detention came to be passed. The ground case came to be registered on 07.01.2014, in Cr.No.3/2014 for the offences under Sections 147, 341, 323, 365 IPC @ 147, 148,
