1. By this appeal, the appellant has challenged the impugned judgment dated 9 th August, 2019, whereby the appellant has been convicted for offence punishable under Section 354B IPC for outraging the modesty of minor girl and for committing an offence punishable under Section 12 of the POCSO Act.
2. Vide the order on sentence dated 27 th September, 2019, the appellant was awarded simple imprisonment for a period of three years and a fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default whereof, to undergo simple imprisonment for one month for offence punishable under Section 354B IPC. For offence under Section 12 of the POCSO Act, the appellant was awarded simple imprisonment to the period already undergone with a fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default of payment of fine, to undergo simple imprisonment for one month. The victim was awarded with the compensation of Rs.1 lakh out of which the appellant was to pay a sum of Rs.15,000/- and in default of the payment of compensation, to undergo simple imprisonment for one month.
