1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.
2. The present writ petition has been filed with the following prayers:-
“1. The respondents may directed to award khatedari rights to the petitioners for their allotted land i.e. khasra no. 289 ad measuring 6.325 hectare in Village Suratgarh, District Sriganganagar; and
2. The respondents may be directed to disposed the application for awarding kahtedari right within stipulated time of one month; and
3. The respondents may kindly be directed not to allot this land to anyone else and restrained respondents or any other person to dispossessed from his allotted land situated in khasra no. 289 ad measuring 6.325 hectare in Village Suratgarh, District Sriganganagar.”

Learned counsel for the petitioners instead of pressing the writ petition on merits submits that the petitioners are in possession of the lands in question for more than 45 years and are cultivating the same since then. He submits that the petitioners have filed the applications before the Tehsildar, Revenue (Suratgarh) for grant of khatedari rights, but the same are not being decided by the Tehsildar.
