1. Vide this common judgment, this Court, shall dispose of the appeal filed by the appellant-Insurance Company as well as cross-objections filed by the cross-objectors/claimants.
2. The present appeal has been preferred against the Award dated 17.01.2017 passed by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Patiala (for short, 'the Tribunal’) in the claim petition under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, wherein the appellant-Insurance company was held liable with the liability to pay the compensation to the claimants/Respondents Nos.1 to 4 to the tune of Rs.19,80,000/- along with interest @6% per annum on the ground of quantum of compensation to be on higher side.
3. The present cross-objections has been preferred by respondent No.1 to 4/cross-objectors/claimants against the award dated 17.01.2017 passed in the claim petition filed under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, by the learned Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Patiala for enhancement of compensation, granted to respondent Nos.1 to 4/claimants to the tune of Rs.19,80,000/- along with interest @6% per annum on account of death of deceased-Pawan Kumar in a motor vehicular acciden
