JUDGMENT :

A.K. MENON, J.

1. This group of 18 petitions are being disposed by this common order. Considering the nature of the issues raised it was appropriate that the matter be disposed finally at the stage of admission.

2. Accordingly I issue Rule. Rule is made returnable forthwith. By consent of all parties petitions are taken up for final disposal.

3. In this group of 18 petitions the issues are common. The orders impugned are passed by the Industrial Court holding that the University had engaged in unfair labour practices under item no.6 of Schedule IV of the Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Unions and Prevention of Unfair Labour Practices Act, 1971("MRTU & PULP Act"). The university was restrained from terminating services of large number of employees without following due process of law. Before entering upon the factual background it is necessary to mention that among these 18 petitions, 10 are filed by the aggrieved employees in various categories and some unions. 8 are cross petitions filed by the university.
