The Court emphasized equal treatment and non-discrimination in employment, mandating re-engagement based on seniority.

Headnote:This judgment analyzes the claim of the petitioner, who was retrenched from his position as a DLR in the WRCP Division, against the rejection of his re-engagement based on seniority compared to a similarly situated individual. The court found that grounds for rejection were unsustainable, leading to a decision that emphasized equal treatment under the law and directives for re-engagement within three months. The overarching issue dealt with the discrimination faced by the petitioner, invalidating the earlier rejection and reinforcing rights to similar employment benefits.
